INSIGHTOur General Manager – National Fleet Performance & Optimisation Mike Dutton, recently sat down for the UITP’s brand new member-led series The Way We Move: Transporting Stories, in a film produced for us by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions.
“TrainDNA provides customer benefits such as higher train availability, reduced overtime, improved safety assurance for safety critical systems and extra capacity in existing maintenance facilities,” Mike said.
“At Downer, we look after rail assets from concept to when they’re disposed of. We’re investing in data, products and tools to improve availability and make sure the trains stay in service, improving passenger comfort, and making sure we give the best value to our customers.”
Mike continued: “In Sydney, a million people commute in and out of the city every day. So how can we move that many people? How do we make sure the trains are available and reliable, operating safely and comfortably?”
